History

Formerly PREPARE

The Safe Office Crew was formerly known as PREPARE, Wake Forest’s oldest chartered student organization. PREPARE has been a foundational organization at Wake, starting as an advocacy group of students in the 1980s who accompanied other students to the hospital after experiences of sexual assault when there was no Safe Office or professional staff to hold this crucial role. The legacy and advocacy of these students undoubtedly led to the foundation of the Safe Office and awareness building on our campus that sexual assault happens within our community. We continue to honor the history of PREPARE and many of their historic programs remain part of the Safe Office and the SOCs.
